The Boyana Church has a ramp for wheelchairs and toilets. Guide dogs are only allowed in the church courtyard. All other dogs are prohibited. Smoking and vaping are prohibited. Drones are prohibited.

The status of “Boyana Church” museum as a cultural monument of global value requires strict admission regulation for the preservation of the priceless mediaeval murals in the temple. The following rules for organised and individual visits are mandatory:

  • Visitors are allowed in groups of no more than 9 people at a time.
  • Each visit is limited to 10 min.
  • All organised groups are allowed to visit only with a valid reservation in the following time intervals:

    Winter working hours: 9:30-10:30; 11:30-13:00; 14:30-15:30; 16:30-17:30.
    Summer working hours: 10:00-11:00; 12:00-13:00; 14:30-15:30; 16:30-17:30.

  • The rest of the time is dedicated exclusively to individual visitors and small groups of up to 5 people, with or without reservation.
  • Reservations are made at the ticket office after purchasing a ticket, or at reservation@boyanachurch.info. In the latter case, the payment is made via bank transfer after confirmation of availability, and the payment order containing the relevant information (number and type of tickets, date and time of the visit) serves as the ticket. The bank details will be provided additionally by email.
  • Reservations are not made on days and at hours that the “Boyana Church” museum has declared “Free admission”, namely:
    every last Monday of each month after 15:00;
    18th May – International Museum Day;
    17th September – Day of Sofia;
    1st November – National Enlighteners’ Day
